Better Vision for the Elderly Campaign Update
Mylocaloptician staff report that over 100 National and Local Newspapers plus broadcast media have been contacted with information on the reason and need for the campaign plus the interventionist method of getting the public to encourage relatives and friends to book.
Whilst we hope that the profession will help itself in printing our A4 poster for window display and repeating the message in recall letters we also ask the public to do likewise and print off the poster and spread the word in day centres, schools, gp surgeries and other public places where the elderly or their carers can receive the message.
We do know that our January stats are climbing on this site over our December figures by around 40%. So something must be working!
How you can help:
• Print the poster and display
• Encourage those you see and meet to consider if they know of elderly friends or relations who need an eye examination and tell them the link to our message www.mylocaloptician.co.uk
• If you have kids or grandkids at school, print the school survey and get them to show their teacher.
You have another 6 weeks left of our efforts on the campaign, but we will be collecting stats from schools during March, so the message needn’t stop till March.
We thank the RNIB in their advice and assistance in raising the message and look forward to seeing positive backing from other professional bodies involved in Optics.
